What do you get when the JFL and her business associates get together?
The answer is lots of fun, knowledge and excitement.
Two sessions of the Power of ONE program (POP) were held on 24th October and 7th November respectively. Both days saw many existing and new marketers come together for some learning and interaction.
Formerly known as the Entrepreneur Empowerment Program, the POP is back with more enriching lessons for JF Lennon’s marketers and associates. JFL’s Head of Operations and marketing veteran Mr. Laurence Howe, was the speaker on both days. He led the marketers through a series of games and marketing examples.
The first POP started off with a ‘bang’ as the marketers warmed up to each other and were busy chatting even before the POP commence. The dynamic chemistry of the marketers was soon revealed when the games portion started. All of them were busy encouraging and giving directions to each other.
The second POP on 7th November saw a mixture of existing marketers and new marketers turn up. Mr. Howe again, brought them through games played previously and enlightened them on several methods to approach potential clients. Although the second POP had smaller number, the marketers’ spontaneity livened up the whole atmosphere and it was comparable to the previous group.
The POP was one program that not only enriches the participants mentally but also stretches them physically. Halfway through the morning segment, all marketers were pulled up for a game of ‘fingers’ as they work together as a team to complete the task of balancing a long pole on only one finger from both hands and lowering it to the ground. It took them several attempts before completing it successfully. Cheers and applause surrounded the whole JFL Learning Hub when the marketers succeeded in completing the task.
Ever heard of the D.I.S.C personality diagnosis?
Marketers were taught ways to identify different personality groups. Identification of such groups will allow them to craft a better client approach. Mr. Howe injected humour into his presentation by using family stereotypes as examples and marketers were left in stitches as they laughed uncontrollably.
Besides learning how to spot client behavior, marketers were also taught how to adjust their way of speaking. Many realized that psychological factors had a lot to do how potential clients react to marketers’ previews and presentations.
Mr. Howe demonstrated the two-way questioning game to the marketers. The usually chatty participants were soon tongue-tied as they ran out questions to ask their partners. It was hilarious moment when volunteers were invited on the stage to showcase their “questioning” power.
The fun in POP did not end after all the games and lessons as JFL staff decided to pull a celebration after the program’s finale. JFL staff sprang a surprise birthday party for speaker Mr. Howe after the POP. It was a tired day for the birthday man but all was worthwhile as he was smiling brightly after JFL staff broke into the birthday song with the lighted cake.
